Mausoleum Crypts
The growing preference for above ground entombment is based on the most ancient Catholic Traditions. You will recall that Our Lord, Himself, was laid to rest in a tomb carved from native rock. Today, Catholic Cemeteries in the Rockford Diocese offer Mausoleum spaces in Elgin, Aurora, Geneva, and Rockford. Mausoleums offer reverent, traditional entombment in clean, dry, crypts fully protected from the elements and the earth. The massive construction of steel and concrete, faced with imported granite, marble, and brick makes this a most attractive and enduring facility. The complexes in Rockford, Aurora and Geneva include a prayerful enclosed chapel, while our mausoleums in Elgin and downtown Rockford are garden mausoleums. Mausoleum (Interior) Above ground mausoleum entombment is less expensive than you might expect and generally costs no more than in-ground monument burial when all costs are taken into consideration. Low payment schedules are available, on terms to fit your family budget. Mausoleum (Exterior)
